About
Ravis Harnell is a former Air Force brat who began his first unfinished novel at the age of eight. He asked his mother if he could include swear words, since it was going to be a real, published book; she said no. He won several awards for writing during his aborted stint in college. Ravis’ professional writing career began in the mid-’90s, when he wandered into an office just as a ‘zine publisher was firing an editor. He spent the next decade championing bands that didn’t suck, and mocking those that did. While he still writes music and cultural criticism for various regional and national outlets under a different name, Ravis has largely returned to his original literary love: lying about interesting things happening to nonexistent people, creatures and inanimate objects. He lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, and enjoys reading, fishing, drinking, golf, and date night with his wife, Rebecca.
